Better luck next time, Nayanthara!
For once, nimble-footed Nayanthara has been caught on the wrong foot!
Well, the tiding from Kollywood is that Nayans will have to wait a little longer to realise a long-standing wish: to act with Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan .
One of the busiest stars in Tamil cinema, Nayan was beside herself with joy when Kamal offered her a role in his forthcoming trailblazer titled ‘Dasavatharam’. Jyothika is one of the other heroines.
But then, there is a glitch, and a major one at that. The nippy actress is in no position to do the Kamal film as she has no dates till December 2006!
So, it was with a heavy heart that Tara broke the news to Kamal . Well, you can't have everything your way, can you ?
Don't worry Nayan. Your wish will be gratified sooner or later! Till then, whoop it up both in Kollywood and Tollywood, where she is making a conscious effort to firm up her hold.
Meanwhile, her item number in Vijay-starrer ‘Sivakasi’ continues to be the talk of Kollywood. Does it mean more item numbers are in the offing ? Time alone can tell. One thing is for sure. Tamil film fans have simply been bowled over the oomph oozed by this Malayali Christian girl on silver screen.
You have to give it to her. Nayan certainly has a nose for news!
Nayan becomes Tollywood Empress
Nayantara couldn't have chosen a better time to make her debut in Tollywood. When she arrived in Telugu films, the audience was slowly getting tired of the current No 1, Trisha. Her career in Tamil too seemed to be in trouble with some flops.
Lady Luck was favoring Nayantara. Her three consecutive films in Telugu (two of them were dubbed films from Tamil) turned out to be blockbuster hits. She is now rumored to be making Rs 60 Lakhs per film.
This has earned her the title of the Empress of Tollywood!
One more on Nayantara- She just wouldn't eat her food without chicken in some form- fries, curry, Manchurians, 65's. Bsut ever since bird-flu broke out, Nayantara has become a vegetarian!!!

Last Year, when Simbu launched his new Tamil film with Nayantara in the lead, everybody talked about it. The film's posters were that controversial. The guardians of the society's moral values tore up the film's posters. Simbu claimed that he didn't realize that the posters could be that controversial

Simbu was passionately biting Nayantara's lip in the picture.
Nayantara has finally come out with her side of the story. "Simbu didn't bite my lip. In fact it was I that made him bite my lip. I had no problems with it. I don't know why others are making such huge fuss about the picture and the posters," she declared.

- Simbu and producer P.L.Thenappan of Sri Rajalakshmi Films seems to love courting controversy especially if it is on skin shows! On Wednesday May 18, they launched they launched their first film together Vallavan at Santhome High School in Chennai.
On the launch day the walls of Chennai city were plastered with provocative posters of Vallavan which is sure to raise the ire of women organizations and purists.
- One of the posters had Simbu biting Nayantara’s lips and another one of Reema Sen’s sexy posture with the hero.

The distributor of the film 'New' has turned into a producer to make a film with S J Suriya and Nayanthara for the banner Dream Makers.
The film was earlier called '36-28-36' and later changed to 'Kalvanin Kadhali'.
